I have some AVI video files on my laptop that I'd like to be able to copy to DVDs and play on my DVD player at home. What's the easiest way to accomplish this?
My DVD player is dvix rated and my laptop is running vista.
Any help appreciated!
(btw, I'm not downloading dodgy pirate films off the internet!)
Cheers. Alas, that software didn't do the job. It took about 4 or 5 hours to convert one file and the converted file was too big to fit onto a DVD (went from around 1.2gb to 8.8gb)
if your dvd player can play divx, and the films you have got are divx not xvid encoded then just copy a data disk and it should be able to play them for you directly.
if not try another of the tools out there, some progs can 'build' the dvd menu for you and just reference the avi files stored which keeps players happy.
I'd use google and try a few of the ones that come up free, eventually one will do what you need it to
Cheers gents, I got a program called DVD Flick which did the job of converting and burning but it looks like a good tool for creating videos in general.
Glad it worked for you. lol. It's been trying to burn a 1 minute video I fed it for the past half hour. Forced the program to close and now the dvd bay is locked up and flashing! I'll try again after reboot! :<
Even supports H.264 / MKV format, awesome machine.
