Anyone see this for sale? I enquired about it a couple of months ago when a dealer was advertising it in Buckinghamshire. It now seems to be in Wales but they are the same pics. Price has gone up a lot too! It was £11k ish when I looked... Nice colour but the price is perhaps "hopeful"..... |

I`m not totally sure if its the same car - but there cant be that many like this(also remember the 5 buttons across the lower dash - incl sunblind). If so then it was up for sale sometime last year on Ebay by Premier Automative. As I remember it went for aprox £11.5k - with less mileage. At the time it did have issues with the aircon. I wonder if this has since been fixed.....?

Isn't that SteveTD's V8 75 thats been for sale for a while?
Steve, are these two cars (poseidon ZTV8 and V8 75 on P heads) yours? If so, how come you are selling both? And how come the MG is a one owner? It was a one owner when I looked at it a few months back....and back then Miseended 4x4 or someone was selling it! I'm either losing my marbles ![]() Mysteriouser and mysteriouser...... |

Hello Chaps
Yes they are mine. The Rover 75 V8 was only ever a temporary fix. However, it's in even more of a niche than the ZT V8 - most people who want the V8 want a manual. However, there is defo a market for the Rover, and fingers crossed that should be gone within the next 10 days. The Poseidon ZT I've only veyr recently bought. Tapped - that is an error, thank you for identifying it - I shall amend the ad to say 2 owners. The garage I bought from recorded absolutely massive interest levels in this car, and when I picked it up, I saw why - it's incredible to look at, and with the spec. So they recommended I put it back on the market for a good few thousand more, so I have. If it doesn't sell, I'm not in the slightest bit worried. If it does, so be it. I guess it's a good position, because anyone who seriously wants one, and in this colour and spec, will pay for it, and can't really get another from elsewhere? Hope this clears up your confusion! ![]()

So I'm not going mad then?!?
How come you want to sell so soon, is it just to make a quick buck or three? It looked to be a nice car, (my missus thinks the flip paints are a bit lairy so my hands were tied....) and I fancied it but I'm more than happy with my XPG one now (my fave colour). i'd love a 75 V8 too but the fuel thirst on the ZT is concentrating the mind enough as it is! |

The ZT is absolutely breathtaking - in colour and condition. However, I had a long chat with the garage after I had already bought it, and they gave me details of several people (at their own request!) who were desperate for the car in that colour. Offers were made to me well in excess of purchase price, via the garage, before I had even picked it up. Therefore I am offering it to the market at the price at which I believe it would cost me to replace it (spec, condition and colour wise)
My ultimate colour is shot silk, so if and when that comes along, I am happy to pass through these cars and enjoy them - if I make any money - great. But to have owned a MK1 260, MK2 260 and a Rover 75 V8 is something I'm proud to say. I would have to say that the Rover 75 V8 is still my fav (ahead of the 260) in so far as the autobox, interior and grille. It is also slightly quicker in a straight line (IMHO) and the rarity is 10 fold that of the ZT. Official fuel economy figures are 21.5 versus 21.1 (MG/Rover) when I bought the Rover I thought those official stats were optomistic. However, I am getting 19.5mpg out of the Rover versus about 20.5 out of the MG, so surprisingly, it's just about the same Glad to hear you are enjoying the 260. I'm sure your enjoyment will only grow! Regards Steve

great looking car!
At the end of the day, both the Rover and MG are British, and, V8's (with a little help from over the water aka Mustang!) I can imagine the Rover being nice as well, and that Autobox must make the 30-50 and 50-70 etc (i.e. on the move acceloration) very very quick!!?? ![]() |

Hello Colin
Well I always thought the weak link in the 260 was the gearbox - I know it has to be a bit agricultural to cope with the power produced by the car, but the Rover 75 does away with that and in a straight line does feel quicker. I reckon most would struggle to get the 260 to do 0-60 in less than 7 secs - the rover does it 6.5 secs every time without fail. And the in-gear times are much better as it selects exactly the right gear, whereas sometimes, I have to admit, I get it wrong in the manual! Anyway, I would love to keep both, but the Rover may be going pretty shortly ![]()

How I would love to have both.........
Only a mortgage, a wife and a slightly more concerned than ever before attitude to heating this planet up is stopping me (one of them would then need to be a daily driver which is an entirely different proposition to occasional playing in the ZT)!!!! Not much then ![]() |

Sorry to inform you SteveTD, the 18" Vortex wheels on your R75V8 are not the only ones in the country. Your ad quotes." Unbeatable specification including: 18 inch Rover Vortex Alloy Wheels (believed to be the only set in UK!)"
These wheels were recently sold by Rover Breakers in sets of four, new and boxed. I have a set for my R75V8 and I know a number of other owners of Rovers and MG's bought them. I have seen at least two R75V8's other than yours advertised with them. Accuracy is all important when selling a car. |

Fair point. Although the ad is 3 or 4 months old, and roverbreakers only issued those wheels 4 or 5 weeks ago. Prior to that, there were very few cars with these wheels - easily single figures. I think that qualifies it as genuinely rare? And the spec is unbeatable

I've had a re-think and I shall keep the ZT 260 in Poseidon at least for the summer, maybe for good.
The Rover 75 will go though. It's just not feasible to keep them both. ![]()

The top picture shows a 4dr, not an estate! I do remember the dark fantasy estate car selling a while (year?) ago for aprox £11k - from the liverpool area. Think SMC might have then bought and sold it on. Shows the 260 has appreciated quite nicely - assuming it sells near this asking price! One of the other cars on your link above looks very similar too: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/139047.htm |

Hi guys, I'm after a valuation on a ZT 260...
It's a 54-plate, black, 43,000m, Don't think it's SE-spec as it has manual rear windows, and no Harmann-Kardon, although it does have a Pioneer DVD HU and 2 headrest screens. Looks straight as a die, up for £10,995 but will accept £10k cash. I'm just a bit put off by the lack of SE spec. Cheers

If you need the SE features you may be better waiting for one to come up. If you don't need them, you can add stuff later as you wish. £10k sounds good as prices are firming up.
Don't forget to ask if the fuel filter clip mod has been done and if the heater hose has been upgraded to a 260s spec silicone one. A good warranty would be nice. If you know the last 3 numbers of the VIN, someone may know more. Good luck. |

My local garage (Monty Smith Penarth) have a 54 plate 260 in black with full SE spec and SE pack with cream leather seats - it's mint - and it's only £11k I think. PM me for details.
From my own experience - the SE is definately the one to go for. steve

Hi
How well do you know these two cars I believe the black one has done 50k and the other one is about half of that. Is it better to have a lower milage or does it not really matter. Is the second one worth 15k? |

PM Sent.
It's impossible to value the specilalist colours as they are subjective and no longer produced - so they make a rare car even more elitist. I have a Bittersweet 260SE with every option possible and would not contemplate selling for less than £17k! With these cars, they are worth whatever they are worth TO YOU! Cheers Steve
