I was under the impression that all the cars up to either 010 or 015 were development cars.

I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday who worked at Longbridge & he said just before he left which was around June/July 2005 he saw at least 6 white Rover 75-V8's parked round the back of Cab2.

There's a late Mk I 260SE (Grey) with only 5900 miles at Auction at BCA Paddock Wood on Tues 12 Dec, so get yer money out should be under £10k !
If anyones in the area let me know what it's like.

Rincewind told me once that mine and 018 were the cars prepped for the low volume type approval testing, so I guess anything before 017 (with the exception of 001) was a development car.

It would be interesting to know if there was an 013, or if that would've been skipped on the grounds of superstition?

My 260 SE is going to Car Giant in White City, London on Monday 11th. Not sure if that is just a dealer or an auction too. Starlight silver, 20700 miles & in VERY good condition. Car Giant is a huge dealers that sell loads of ex company and nearly new ex hire cars. The site is HUGE. They have several thousand cars on show. As they are only 5 miles away from me ,I will go and have a look....

Was at SMC High Wycombe earlier in the week. They have a brand new Trophy Blue ZT 260SE in the showroom. They want £22995. They must be getting desperate because they offered me a really good part exchange price for my ZS...

is that the supercharged one tho? most of the 'new' SEs seem to be going for some way less than 20k and the non-SEs around £15k!

I think the supercharged one had aprox 4k on the clock, so not 'brand new'. Also, I`m not sure cos its ages ago I looked at it, it may not have had a sunroof, so wasnt 'true' SE spec!

Was Trophy Blue replaced by Ignition blue late on by MG Rover?!?

The supercharged model was a ZTT, i think ona 54 plate.Its at the Slough branch. The model in the High Wycombe showroom is a Trophy blue saloon. Will be registered on a 56 plate..

The Supercharged ZT-T385 that is at Slough is the only official 385 that went down the production line as a 385.
There was a detailed feature on this car earlier in the year either in "Enjoying MG" or "MG Enthusiast".
It is in Ignition Blue & I think an SE spec. A rare beast indeed, pity it wasn't a monogram specced car as I may have bought it earlier in the year.

Ignition Blue did replace Trophy Blue but the there are a very few Mk2 trophy Blue cars though. The one that SMC have I think is a Mk1 which must have been hiding somewhere for a while but also a few weeks ago SMC in High Wycombe had a Mk1 unregistered Rover 25 & I also heard recently that unregistered Rover 600's had been found!!

Think this car has been for sale for a while, Chasis 575. It does look like a very nice car - provided you are attuned to the cream monogram interior. I`d be quite tempted, especially at the price, but I`m just not too sure about the seats! This is the Mk1 I pointed out last week for sale at Auction! I see it is now on eBay for £14k: Very low miles for a 53 plate?? Engine looks well corroded, but has the Mustang engine badge at least.

That Monogram cream leather was a £2500 cost option as it was full leather as opposed to all the others being leather seat faces. Possibly the best solution would be to retrim the centre parts of the seats & leave the rest.
I've got the cream in my ZT-T & that is one of the reasons I bought it as it was much rarer.

This has turned up at SMC. Was originally being sold by a private seller as an unwanted competition prize and is a close relative to my 260 as the reg is almost the same. Probably originally came from Horners in Manchester. Am pleased to say that it's nearly £2k more than I paid for mine with 70 miles on the clock 6 months ago and has only done 4k miles less than mine currently has on the clock.

Also noticed that most of the new base spec 260s seem to have gone now.

I think there were at least 2 from that competition - mine was and is only a few letters away from that reg (MDK instead of MDF) indicating that there might even have been as many as 5.
