recieved my kit today and must say if it works half as good as it looks then it'll be just great ,looking at it ,it must have taken sheddist some serious time to knock out ten kits like this ,its not some codged together effort this is quality stuff and for the price is very very cheap imo.
A big thankyou from me ,your work is much appreciated here,

Well all i can say is- in the months iv'e had my kit, & the mileage iv'e done- Nigels upgrade kit has performed flawlessly!

It's no word of a lie- that i never even think about the clutch hydraulics anymore- as i'm very confident they'll be reliable & rock steady!

Dave,
Will send you another copy.

It will fit the 120, just the pipe routing around the ECU is different. More room under there though!

Harbs, Sheddists, thanks very much to you both.

Wasn't a hint, just I know most, if not all the other kits will be finding their way on to 180's and wanted to ask if there were any differances.

Though if i get stuck, your soon know about it!!!

Now, how long till pay day????

Sheddy can you tell me how to order one of these kits from you. Also, does this count as a modification for the insurance? Is the fit easy enough for me to hand over to the local garage to fit? Is there any structural alterations to the car eg drilling bolting etc. whqat about pedal alignment? and where is the bite point after fitting. Thanks.

I think i'll be asking Sheddist to supply (and fit if poss) as I am very interested and want the peace of mind that my clutch is ok!

one question - supposing I have a problem with the new clutch in a couple of years would I be right to assume that a reputable garage would understand the new system and carry out works as required?

I wouldn't want to go for a service to find the garage raising their eyebrows etc etc!

cheers

How many miles have people done so far on the new Sheddits System?

cheers

Hey ho - my clutch suddenly disappeared off the face of the earth last night (02 ZS180, 29k).

I'm not a mechanic though, live in Cheshire - if I get one of these kits can I take it anywhere to get fitted, or what's the situation there?

Thanks,

m

I can see a need for a "Sheddist Dealer Network"

Sadly, I'm not even half competent.

The guitarist in our band is also a Ford mechanic, so I've asked him to take a look at this thread for me, as he may be able to find the time to do it... so will hopefully be in touch sheddist.

Cheers,

The kit is is pretty damned simple to fit- the longest single job when fitting the kit is filling it with fluid/bleeding it, and getting a decent pedal!

I know it's common sense- but i'll say it anyway! The clutch pedal (when right!) should have a good bit o weight to it- not megga heavy- just a nice firm weighty feeling to it!

If it's feather light n almost shoots down when you breath on the pedal then you've still got work to do!

A fast way of getting fluid into the kit is to use one o them pressure bleed kits but that's all it will do (get fluid into the system!)- you'll still have to manually pump the pedal to work the cyl's & fully bleed the kit to get a good pedal!(as we found out when me n Dave fitted his kit!)

As i say though- you'll know when it's right!- if it's feather light- keep going!- untill it feels more meaty!

Apart from that you should find the rest of the kit pretty straight forward to fit!

If memory serves me right- then it may have took me n dave maybe a couple of hours to do the job (just seemed to take a deal of bleeding to get pedal feel same as mine!)

Default Re: ZS clutch hydraulic system "Upgrade"

Congrtaulations to SHEDDIST once again for another clutch kit installed. It only took me and my bro 2.5hrs and it really is like a different car with a light short clutch pedal. I am Very impressed and quite relieved as there were no hairy moments. Follow instructions and do what you are told when you are told and nothing will go wrong. Had to ring sheddist once but only to thank him. Had set aside an afternoon to do this and had time left to change all plugs, oil and filter.
