Default EX257 back on track

Donkeys years have passed since my last post, but like Nobby Nobster, I do get excited when an MG Lola returns to the track. Mike Newton is once again running one of his cars in the Masters series and recently gained a podium result at the Nurburgring... excellent job !!

Roy, thanks for the update.

I didn't know that, who is he partnering?

Plan to attend WEC this weekend.

I believe the FIA Masters series comprises of 2x 40 minute races (to avoid refueling stops) and are single driver races Jerry. The next race takes place at Spa at the end of the month and the MG (EX257 #002) is entered. The cut off year for types allowed entry is upto 2012. Some nice old LMPs running and pretty large entries. May get to see a few next year methinks.

He is definitely doing Silverstone again next year...I wangled a look around his workshops last week and had a natter. The 257 is currently in Bicester but saw the 265C, ARX 03 and Embassy WF-01...

Mike Newton has the MG Lola out at Spa this weekend for two more races in the Endurance Masters series. Heading into a night race grid position P7 and 1st in class. I believe there is also a daylight hours race tomorrow

Mike retired from both races, from the friday night race with front end bodywork damage on lap 6..and from the saturday race whilst behind the safety car on lap 5 😕. Maybe the repairs from friday didn't hold out.
