exhaust for focus st - XPowerForums

Hey guys, I'm really craving the power gains of a full exhaust but I cannot stand the sounds of any of them.. I feel like the Cobb Tuning FMIC, CAI and tuner I want to order won't even make sense if I don't do a full exhaust.. am I ridiculous?
will a catted downpipe bolt up to a factory cat back? I know the down pipe is probably one of the most restrictive parts of that car, if I open just that portion will I see gains? has this been done before? does it even make sense?
I'm too old to be sounding like a rice box..
