Ever since the (in)famous Longrbidge pictures last year the Urbex website they appeared on has been one of my regular visits. The site, LB that is has continued to attract the Urbex types and some pictures of an "explore" over the weekend can be found at:

Them bodyshells have been there for almost 2 years then?
Quite amazing photos, would love to have a look myself.
Is the TF with the flared arches the new TF?

I don't know tbh.

They're no good to the new NAC MG company to sell, that's for sure.

Parts probably not available to complete them for starters.

Because NAC-MG had/have plans to build them into complete cars.

The MG7/ZT, MG TF and MG3/ZR will all be back in production this year so those can be shipped to China and used. The MG5 will appear later although its not clear if the MG5 will use the ZS body shell yet.

Not a bad idea - scrap mixed steel fetches around £60/ton - I know, I took a load in last weekend!

The silver TF in the pics was testing a wider track(same as TF500) and aero stuff -hence the cut out & ducting in the bonnet area. It never got as far as having a faster engine in it due to budgets but engineers were keen to get chassis stuff started. it was originally being developed in the flightshed

I understand NAC have done a deal with Honda, the ZS is coming back but not to the UK.

The car they couldn't not kill.

A perfect machine to run Jeremy Clarkson over with.

As someone who has access to the Longbridge site I can confirm that there is still a lot of stuff still there and will probably stay there until NAC start production and decide what they want to keep. I am not allowed to take a camera in and security is quite tight. I have managed to buy some V8 parts for people when they have not been available via the normal channels.

That MG TF with the wider track and so on was the next generation TF. It's a pity the photo wasn't more side on as you'd see the increased length of the wheel base (100mm or so). This was the form the basis for the new TF and new TF coupe and the current floorpan was to become the new Midget.

The cut out's on the bonnet were to direct the hot air out from the repositioned radiators at the front of the car to imporve cooling. It was to have a new steering system and brakes system along with a whole raft of changes and it was aiming for the top of the tree with regards everything. It was also package protected for the KV6 engine. It was also going to use a 6 speed PG1 box called Hurricane. 17 and 18" wheel options and a rather fantastic interior with the introduction of "organ pedals" or floor mounted/hinged throttle and possible the brake/clutch too.

I was working in Targets & Strategy when this was being conceived and I was on the test that help set the targets for the vehicle. It was going to be fantastic and the development car you have seen in the flightshed was the chassis car.

It's funny how a little thing can jump out at you and throw a bias on your thoughts. Under normal circumstances everything Nic has just said would make me really excited, but at the moment all i can think of is this...

Please don't tell me this is so? I hate them with a passion. My old man's Bentley has a floor mounted accelerator and it's just awful - the one (and only) thing i intensly dislike about it. I believe BMWs also have floor hinged pedals, so there are probably very sound driver oriented reasons for them, but to me they just feel awkward and get in the way of the driving experience.

I remember seeing a floor mounted pedal box in the TF XP500 and it kinda ruined my day a bit - great car, but seeing the pedals dropped it off of my 'cars to drive before i die' fantasy list.

As i started out by saying, it's funny the things you focus on - i should be really excited about this car, but instead i am talking about pedals - bizzarre!

I expect there is still good's in The Auctioneers hands maybe to go as a job lot.
