Ever since the (in)famous Longrbidge pictures last year the Urbex website they appeared on has been one of my regular visits. The site, LB that is has continued to attract the Urbex types and some pictures of an "explore" over the weekend can be found at:
http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/...ead.php?t=9321 There are others too: http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/...ead.php?t=9095 http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/...ead.php?t=9254 http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/...ead.php?t=9257

http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/...ead.php?t=9321 is a very recent set of new images - see the store of painted bodyshells? Awesome.

Them bodyshells have been there for almost 2 years then?
Quite amazing photos, would love to have a look myself. Is the TF with the flared arches the new TF?

Brilliant. I've done a bit of 'wandering' myself on different sites and know that it can be a serious adrenaline rush.
I have to say this would be the ultimate trip for me.

I don't know tbh.
They're no good to the new NAC MG company to sell, that's for sure. Parts probably not available to complete them for starters.

Quite a few Pounds worth still lying about in there.
Why weren't they all sold off or scrapped?

Tend to agree with Demon Paul on this one .......
I'm sure they would have scrapped all of the bodyshells when they butchered the last lot that was captured on the pic's we all saw Also from what we saw from the 28 days later guys there are development ZS mules still in the flightshed ................ I wish somebody had asked the nac guys on the web chat

Not a bad idea - scrap mixed steel fetches around £60/ton - I know, I took a load in last weekend!

Me too, surely some organisation like the MGOC for example or Xpart could buy all that stock & realise some money rather than just leaving it to festre!!!!!!!!

As someone who has access to the Longbridge site I can confirm that there is still a lot of stuff still there and will probably stay there until NAC start production and decide what they want to keep. I am not allowed to take a camera in and security is quite tight. I have managed to buy some V8 parts for people when they have not been available via the normal channels.

The cut out's on the bonnet were to direct the hot air out from the repositioned radiators at the front of the car to imporve cooling. It was to have a new steering system and brakes system along with a whole raft of changes and it was aiming for the top of the tree with regards everything. It was also package protected for the KV6 engine. It was also going to use a 6 speed PG1 box called Hurricane. 17 and 18" wheel options and a rather fantastic interior with the introduction of "organ pedals" or floor mounted/hinged throttle and possible the brake/clutch too. I was working in Targets & Strategy when this was being conceived and I was on the test that help set the targets for the vehicle. It was going to be fantastic and the development car you have seen in the flightshed was the chassis car. Nic

It's funny how a little thing can jump out at you and throw a bias on your thoughts. Under normal circumstances everything Nic has just said would make me really excited, but at the moment all i can think of is this...
Quote:
I remember seeing a floor mounted pedal box in the TF XP500 and it kinda ruined my day a bit - great car, but seeing the pedals dropped it off of my 'cars to drive before i die' fantasy list. As i started out by saying, it's funny the things you focus on - i should be really excited about this car, but instead i am talking about pedals - bizzarre!

My understanding is that Caterpiller had been approached and they purchased what they wanted.
