Default Turbo help

Hey guys, I don't understand much about car mechanics so I came to this website. My boyfriend would love it if I bought him a turbo for his MGF but I am not sure on which parts I would need to buy or what type of turbo. I have looked online and I saw a lot of turbocharger MG ZT's but I am not sure which would fit his MG or which parts to buy. Can someone help?

Unfortunately that's not something that will be a buy and bolt on.

Hi and welcome to the forum

If one is doing the work oneself the easy option is to buy a MG ZT that has a turbo engine, take it out and swap it to the MGF.

You then need to get a custom exhaust made.

And a wiring loom.

And get the alarm coded to run the engine ECU......

or search for MJS auto marine - they do a conversion for you.

Either option is over 1000.

A cheaper option is a remap at around 220 - 250.
Search for K maps.

James

P.S. Tell your boyfriend he is one lucky guy, my girlfriend paid 1300 to get my maestro turbo charged in 2004, still got it, the car that is, I don't have the girlfriend any more, I married her.
