Is anyone going to oulton park or donny next year for the BTCC, if so would it be best to organise it through xpf to get a discount, is was at oulton park this year and the vx owners had done this and got there own designated parking for the club, just an idea, lrt me know what you think.

I doubt you would make the numbers to enable a discount.

Just look at the xmas meet scenario...

Social gatherings seem to be dying out in the MG community, which is a shame.. But to be expected since the cars are no longer in production.

Also it can be said that current modern mg owners are nothing like the mgb/mg a owners of the past.

Unless luti secures a place in Btcc for 2010, i believe its game over for MG in BTCC, sad but true !

Yeah it is a shame because my friend is a member of saxperince.co.uk and they are always having meetings, would be nice to do the same. As for BTCC it dont realy matter whos racing and what, its a bill day out, and soooo much better than F1!

Just read on Paul's facebook page that they won't be competing in BTCC this coming season. Simply not enough funding secured I'm afraid :-(

You can... but dont expect much!!!

I've let his hosting and URL at teamkwr.net slide and haven't had any more contact with him since I spent a fortune on hosting it, phoning potential sponsors, getting media deals, producing and sending out promo info and getting none of it re-paid.... and just being fed bulls*** all the time. I know the difficulty in getting the cash to go racing, but honesty wouldnt go amiss!

There are other drivers out there who actually apprecitate the help of getting to the grid!

So no more ZS in touring cars now.

Great shame, but was inevitable.

When RAC dropped the ZS, its days in BTCC were numbered.

The problem is getting funding.. And the fact remains no one is going to back a car thats manufacturer has gone bust and doesnt have big numbers in followers.

If you look at the current privateers, they all have bought Hondas, Vauxhalls or BMWs.

Even with Vauxhall pulling out this year, the vectras are still in the pack, and some will be running the new 2011 spec turbocharged engine.

Its a great shame Paul Luti didnt get his funding, I feel that if Paul bit the bullet and changed marques, his career would maybe take a different direction.

Im quite looking forward to 2010 BTCC and Clio cup.

I will be actively involved in the clio cup this year, and the lad whos driving will certainly be creating a stir when he debuts in April.

I maybe racing in the MG TROPHY series along with Paul Luti if things come together in time for April... We shall see.

George

Dave not surprised at all. Hope it wasn't to much cash.

On the positive side - I imagine you learnt a lot about the motorsport scene.

Lets hope Paul flies the flag for MG.

I did wonder if Turky would be doing WTCC with WSR after he had finally won the Championship . . . we will have to wait and see I guess.

There's also a rumour that he's wanted by RML to drive a Chevy Cruze alongside Plato! May i re-state though that these are just rumours, Colin at RML and also that RML will run Cruze's.
I hope he stays at WSR in the BTCC though, don't fancy being seen at meetings in a Chevy Jacket, i haven't worn out my RAC one yet!

RAC are no longer the main sponsors for WSR anyway, and the cars certainly wont be BRIGHT ORANGE anymore. They have a new main sponsor, and the cars are now WHITE.

Colins seat at WSR remains unconfirmed.

I think the livery remains unconfirmed also, wasn't that just an "interim livery", might end up puke green yet I guess we will see at the media launch at Brands . . . anyone going ? I haven't decided yet, its a bit of a treck for me.
